On this night Sabrina and I went to Indigo Grill for Mother's day. We left the boys and kiddos at home and celebrated just us girls. We got all gussied up and headed out to Little Italy's Indigo Grill close to Downtown San Diego.
Our server was a cute, energetic girl. With all they have to say describing the food I felt more like I was on a tour guide at Sea World rather than a restaurant. We ordered the fried brie appetizer, which as we all know I love cheese. We also ordered a bottle of my favorite wine; Gewurtztraminer, well really it's the only wine I drink.
When the cheese came I was all kinds of confused, it was very fancy looking. As we all know I do not do fancy very well, I clean up nicely but get right down to it I am a finger foods kinda girl. Sabrina tried to teach me....tried. It's like you pick up the bread then smear some garlic on it and then some cheese... I was like do I pick it up with my fingers or with my alien hand fork, the fork was large with 3 prongs and looked like an alien. There was a random mini pepper on the plate, I'm guessing for decoration
Then it was time to order the food, I ordered a mushroom pasta, 'cause how can you go wrong with pasta? Sabrina ordered a steak thing...hers was way better. My pasta had spinach and randomness in it and really I didn't like it, my pasta was too fancy. Sabrina offered to share hers with me and it was very good, thin sirloin and some beans and other stuff but it was good. I kept trying to eat my pasta but that was just not working out. I hate it when restaurants try to make my dishes "fancy" it's pasta for crying out loud!

The Manager came by to check on us and our meal..she complimented our dinner and our wine choice, said I matched the wine perfectly with the pasta...heehee little did she know.
I do know how to match wine with meals I just don't care to...I eat and drink what I like rather than pair up what should go with it.

After dinner we debated on desert then decided against it. It was fun to just hang out just me and Sabrina.
