Date Night: Hollywood

On this day my boyfriend and I went up to Hollywood. I had never seen the stars walk of fame or Grauman's Chinese Theatre so he took me there to see it....

First we went to this restaurant on Sunset Strip called "Carney's" it's an actual train, ok it doesn't move but it was an actual train, now it is a hotdog/burger place. Inside is cute it has booths and photos of it's creation on the walls so you can see how they got that train car there. It's quite cool. It was impressive.

Of course we had hotdogs...you know, when in Rome.....you have a hotdog. Josh got a Chicago-ish style and I had mine plain. Maybe one day I will have a Chicago style hotdog like if I am ever in Chicago.

Once we finished our tasty hotdogs, we were on our way.

I will say I hate LA drivers! This is not a joke, every comedian that has ever bitched about LA driving or traffic is right, they suck!!! This is why whenever I have gone to LA I will not drive. If I am forced to drive then I guess we don't go, unless of course you want to die. I am not the best driver, as anyone who has every rode in a car with me can tell you, I tend to just not see things.....like stop signs. I'm just saying.
So we start driving and end up all over the place really because Josh doesn't like to use my magic phone on adventures like this.... So we looked for the spot where the wonderland murders took place...

Even with the help of my magic phone, we could not find the correct house but we did find this spot....where we could see over all of LA...This was beautiful.

Then through a street I spotted the WB studios...but we could not get to it :(

Then we spotted Walt Disney studios, the gates all had little Mickey heads on them (I thought it was cute)
Finally we end up on the stars walk of fame.... We saw the strangest people, Josh compared it to an inland Venice Beach. We saw people dressed up as Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Batman, Transformers.... and they all charged to take your photo with them. And really not many even looked like the people they were impersonating. And they didn't really act like the people correctly...I'm sorry you are making Marilyn Monroe look bad, and you're not cute and your dress is cheap.

I don't mean to just rip on the Marilyn personator. There were other bad costumes too...like really bad T.J. versions of Mickey Mouse characters. Maybe it's just me but I feel the crappy impersonators cheapen the experience, hell maybe the people from Alabama, or Florida or Japan get the biggest kick out of these people, I don't know. I believe if you are going to mimic something or someone they you should go the distance and BECOME them or maybe I am just more impressed with originality.

Like there was this street spraypainter, painting on a poster paper with spraypaint and it was pretty fucking awesome. I was watching him and I wanted to do that. (video below to show an exaple of the awesomeness I saw that day)

Not from this day..this photo was stolen from goole images

As we walked down the incredibly long street we started seeing a lot of people had multiple stars, so then I wondered do the stars buy they star??
Chuck Norris

Marilyn Monore

Adam West

When we stopped at Adam Wests star to take a pic I heard this voice talking about Adam West's star and thought oh weird maybe it was one of those sensor things where you walk by and it starts talking....no. I looked up and some dude is in some half wall/half robot costume, like that's his job. At first it freaked me out...I was talking to this dude who is stuck in the wall being a robot, then I felt sorry for him. It was super hot outside.
DR. SEUSS
This is Sidney Franklin....I have this awesome actor friend...his name is Sidney Franklin and one day he posted on Facebook a picture of this star and him next to it...I thought he photoshopped it but no no it is real. So now I say my friend Sid has a star on the walk of fame....he is that awesome (he really is though)

Alfred Hitchcock

John Ritter

Elizabeth Montgomery

We get to the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. You know, either I don't get impressed very easily or I have built stuff in my mind to be larger than life, but either way I was not that impressed. It was not as big s I thought it would be. So I think they rotate the cement blocks every now and then to make room for the new stars prints, I want to see where they store those, hell I wanna know if any of them broke. How much trouble would you be in if you broke one?

Josh's big foot in Bing Crosby's prints
You know back in the day people were just smaller in size, makes you wonder about our society and where we are going because we are so much bigger now.

Johnny Depp

John Wayne

Ron Howard

Walter Matthou
After we were there for a minute there was a cheesy photographer with a green screen in the corner for the tourist I'm assuming. She had me take a pic in front of the green screen and then showed me what it looked like with different backgrounds...it was lame and not flattering. We did not buy a picture. We walked on.... We wanted to go in the museums, but lets be honest with as picky as I am I have a hard time paying $30 to be disappointed. Not saying that I would have been but I am a little worried that I would be and feel I have wasted my money on that...then I would have been mad at myself.

It was a long day and we had a long drive home to go....all and all it was an adventure.
