On this date night, or date day with friends we ventured out to Total Combat Paintball, thanks to livingsocial.com (where I found my coupon) I really do love livingsocial.com, I find amazing deals on things I wouldn’t normally think of doing….that brings us to where are on this HOT September San Diego day…PAINTBALL!!!!

| Karamie (left) Johnny (middle) and me (right) On this day it was me, my friend Juan “Johnny”, Karamie, Claudia and her fiancé Rueben…. This place in in Otay Ranch Towne Center. Johnny and Karamie got there first. Then I arrived, and we wait for Claudia and Rueben to show, and of course I have to pee. The three of us walk to the restroom…pretty clean bathroom, and there is a scale in the bathroom so I decide to try it…it tells me things I don’t want to hear like my weight, but then it tells me my lucky numbers and my fortune, which is “you will have a better job”. Karamie gets on the scale and it tells her that she creates her own destiny. |

Finally Claudia and Reuben show up. We go into the arena. The first thing we notice are these really big inflated things, we assumed we were going to shooting there and hiding behind those. On our right was a very nice woman who helped us with paperwork and getting our masks. We signed waivers and the rules form, which Johnny jokingly refused to sign. Once we were all paid up and all things signed we walked over to a canopy with a table and waited for our referee.

This was a brand new field and we were the first to use it. We marked it up good. Mostly because none of us could aim so we hit everything except each other. Or at least that's how it was for me....and that is because I run and shoot with my eyes closed. I think I forgot I was wearing a mask.

Then we took a break and check out the damages...I was dripping sweat and got sweat in my eyes...oh how that burned

I was standing near Karamie, she bent over and I heard "RRRRRRIIIIIPPPPPP" and then her say "oh shit" I laughed knowing her pants ripped hahaha

After this we went to Baja Betty's in Hillcrest. We decided that no matter where we went we would wear exactly what we have on. So Karamie had to wear her ripped shorts....but she's a trooper, she rocked it!
Off to Baja Betty's we go, I've never been. Worked across the place for 3 years but never went there, sadness didn't know what I was missing.
We go in, it is a cute place. We are offered to sit at the bar or at a table, we left that to Johnny to decide as me and Karamie went to the bathroom. we come back to find him at a table close to the bar. Our server comes over, we look over the happy hour menu and ask for waters and order our drinks. Johnny and I got a regular margarita on the rocks with salt. Karamie got a fruity margarita. The waters arrived and the cute little server whose name escapes me made sure to give Johnny the pink straw in every drink he ordered hahaha.
I was hungry, my companions were not they had a big breakfast before paintball....we ordered 2 appetizers, you know why??? because I was hungry hahaha. We asked our waiter about the items we chose he complimented them so we ordered a rita rita crispy cheese tortilla which was pretty much a tortilla pizza with cheese and toppings...super yummy and la isla bonita jalapeno slices which were sliced jalapenos breaded and fried served with chipolte and ranch sauce. Let me start by saying I do NOT like jalapenos on anything, but these things were ssoooo good. I loved them.

Karamie and Johnny wanted to order another drink, I didn't. I'm usually good with my one drink. While they were looking over drinks the power went out...turns out it was a HUGE power outage...Karamie turned on her phone so we could listen to music at our table...the other guest appreciated it :) but I was glad we ordered our food when we did. But they were still serving drinks only nothing blended of course, no power to mix them up, so Karamie ordered a Pink Pussy instead of another blended fruity margarita and Johnny chimed in with "a pink pussy sounds good about now" I just looked at him and laughed, needless to say he also ordered a Pink Pussy.

After a while we were all checking our phones on updates from facebook and seeing if everyone was in the dark. Our friend Kelly came by and had a drink with us.
I had to go to the bathroom again, but it was dark so I made Kelly come with me...she had a flashlight app on her phone....let there be light while I peed. We got back from the table and was finding out bits and pieces about the outage...like it was all over San Diego County and in Arizona ....at this time I decided I better hit the road before it started getting dark or too much traffic on the roads considering no traffic lights were working and all.
It was quite the adventure...good times. Would totally do it again :):)
