So I was on this site livingsocial.com and saw a deal for sushi...so I got it because me and Amber have been trying to have a sushi date what seems like forever. The coupon was for Aloha Sushi in La Jolla.
We get there and the place is kinda hidden and super cute, we chose to sit inside. It was real small inside.

Amber....my date. isn't she cute? hahaha |
I really don't eat sushi very often in fact I've only had it like 2 other times and honestly it kinda scares me so I made Amber order...haha. And man is she a pro (at ordering sushi) she looked at me and said "ok so we'll have miso soup, do you like that?" oh what the hell?! I don't know. she said it was salty...ok I like salty, I'll try it. then she says we'll have a veggie roll, so I look at the options and made an attempt to pick one. I thought I did good. Then she's all..."we'll have this and this and that....and I think that's a good start..." a good start? are you kidding...ok what the hell (I ate 2 HUGE slices of pizza in one sitting at Luigi's last time) let's do it!

Miso Soup |
Please notice the fork in the picture..I was happy about that but I did use the chop sticks. The soup was salty...I liked it. Little by little our food arrived.

Rainbow Roll and the Veggie roll I picked |
I was curious about the red and white bottle thing on the table, wasn't sure if it was useful or just decor...I opened it and it was empty, could be decor but it smelled like soy sauce. I showed Amber and she agreed it was for soy sauce. The last of our rolls come and Amber grabs for the empty soy sauce container and tries to use it...I just looked at her then she realized that it was still empty I stole a full bottle from another table.

She's a pro...at eating sushi
We had great conversation, she told me all about how she met her boyfriend, how in love she is (which always makes me happy) we talking about baking stuff (she is the clumsy baker after all) we talked about all my projects. It was great to sit and talk with her without the interruptions of work or having to rush off some where. Then we checked on our cars, it was only 1 hour parking out front...Amber came back and said "no ticket, no chalk marks, no tow we're good" so I went to check on my car....and it was still there and no ticket. When I got back Amber had to use the restroom I waited and took pictures of everything else.....
She seemed to be gone forever, I was like what the hell, did she fall in? Finally she came back ad I hear the server say "did you find it ok?" and then laugh, I was like ok....was it a maze? We finish up out sushi which we couldn't really finish...then the server came back and asked about dessert we said no but then she said "you haven't reached your 40 dollar mark yet" (from our coupon) so we asked for a dessert menu and Amber asked for coffee...we looked over the desserts and I guess was thinking the same think....everything had ice cream on it...me, I really need to be in the mood for ice cream, I'm really a fan of ice cream...and after hearing Amber say in disgust "everything has ice cream" I guessed she felt the same and me on the great ice cream debate....we ordered chocolate banana creme burle and Amber ordered her coffee again.
I then asked Amber where the bathrooms were, she said go out the door the go around the building and it's behind the building..........ooookkkkk????
I walk out the door she said to, then turned to go around the building there were these pretty private tables, I kept walking around to directly behind the building...more tables, so I ventured a bit more....the bathrooms were a completely different building, in fact I almost walked into someones apartment, it was so confusing. but I made it back just in time as our dessert arrived.
I have never had creme brule before and this was quite tasty, Amber finally got her coffee. Finally we get the bill with was like 3 dollars in the end. The food was great, the place was super cute (minus the bathroom) and the service was eh so-so. But we had a great time and I would totally go back again....
Now let me show you the bathrooms.....
OK so you walk down this way
behind the building on your right (the bathrooms are behind these tables)
This is directly behind the building on the left (touching the building)
Viola!! you see how there is apart A here...it's confusing THAT is not the bathroom
Here in the bathroom.
